Writer-Friendly Transit: Jupiter Enters Gemini

On May 25th, 2024, Jupiter entered the sign of Gemini where it will stay until June 9, 2025. Jupiter is the planet of growth, expansion, and abundance. Gemini is a lively and intellectual air sign, ruled by Mercury, which deals with communication, curiosity, and adaptability.

When these two energies combine, we experience a surge in mental agility, social interactions, and learning opportunities. Gemini is a lover, a devourer, of information. This directly affects us writers since writing is a massive form of communication. Let’s take a look at how we can channel this abundant energy.

Intellectual Expansion

Gemini’s influence encourages curiosity and a thirst for knowledge. During this transit, we are likely to feel a heightened desire to learn new things, engage in stimulating conversations, and explore diverse ideas. This period is perfect for taking up new studies, reading extensively, or even teaching and sharing knowledge with others. Help out your fellow authors by sharing what’s worked for you.

Enhanced Communication

Gemini rules communication, and with Jupiter’s abundance and luck amplifying this energy, our ability to express ourselves will improve significantly. This transit supports eloquent speech, effective writing, and persuasive conversation. It’s an ideal time to refine our communication skills, making it easier to convey our thoughts and ideas clearly and convincingly. Whether in personal relationships, professional settings such as conferences, or public speaking, we can expect a boost. This could mean wonderfully supportive energy for any authors sending out queries, of any kind—be them seeking an agent, sending out a short story on submission, asking influencers and podcasters for promotion, etc. So, put yourself out there a little and see what happens.

Social Connections and Networking

Network. Network. Network. Gemini is inherently social, and Jupiter’s expansive energy encourages us to broaden our social circles and engage with a wider range of people. Networking opportunities abound during this transit, making it an excellent time for building connections that can lead to personal and professional growth. (Just make sure to be genuine about it. No one wants to be used as a ladder for their connections and knowledge.) This would be wonderful energy to collaborate with other authors in your genre. Put together a group giveaway, invite others to create a themed anthology that you all promote to your respective readers, and so on. Create opportunities that are mutually beneficial.

Flexibility and Adaptability

Gemini is known for its adaptability, and Jupiter’s presence in this sign helps us embrace change with greater ease. This period supports flexibility in thinking and how we approach things, allowing us to better navigate life’s twists and turns with a bit more grace than usual. We become more open to new experiences and perspectives, which can lead to innovative solutions and creative problem-solving. How this could lend a hand for writers is don’t be afraid of experimenting with new (to you) ways of marketing. Give something a try and see what happens. You could also use this time to dabble in mixing up genres or writing a trope you haven’t. Be a little playful in your career.

4 Things To Be Aware Of During Jupiter in Gemini

Learning and Not Applying: Hi, I’m a hoarder of courses and webinars. If someone is teaching a class on anything I’m remotely interested in, you bet your ass I’m going to find a way to devour it (my moon is in Gemini lol). Don’t let this be you during this transit. Keep on eye on becoming an armchair writer and marketer during this transit. Put what you learn into play to see if it actually works for you.

Rabbit Holes: The next year could see an uptick in us getting lost in media and informational rabbit holes. It’s always good to be aware of things happening in the world, but if you’re prone to this already (aka you’re neurospicy in any way – like me!), try to keep an eye on it or it could sabotage what you’re trying to accomplish. I would include doom scrolling under this. Our ability to focus on work etc will struggle.

Researching Without Writing: Somewhat akin to the previous note, since Jupiter reigns growth and expansion, its transit in Gemini could lend to you spending way too much time researching for your book instead of writing it. As Becca Syme says, make sure to QTP (question the premise) on if your research is actually you procrastinating moving forward with your project. Remember, what we give our time and attention to during this transit will expand.

Inaccurate Information: Data processing, information, media, and news all fall under the sign of Gemini. It’s very likely we’re (unfortunately) going to see AI misinformation continue to infiltrate our lives, causing a dilution of factual information. We are already seeing this with Google Search and social media. Try not to take anything at face value. Seek out further information, ask questions, and take anything on social media with a grain of salt. Don’t believe every photo you see. They could easily be fakes.

Stay curious, communicate effectively, and connect widely to truly benefit from this transformative transit 💫
